October Goals & A September Update

How lucky I am to live in a world with Octobers? October is one of my favorite months. It’s the start of the holiday season, but it’s a bit slower of a month since Halloween doesn’t typically require travel. Like most humans, I love sweater-season and can’t keep salted-caramel flavors out of my mouth. I love pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and everything else that comes with the season. Let’s get started with my September update and October goals!

September 2020 Goal Update

one | track my eating habits
I’ll be honest, I sort of did this. I eat so similarly every day, that I feel like I can log certain meals and relatively gauge my calorie intake and macro percentages. I’ve had a hard time hitting my protein intake goals, but I’ll continue to work on it this month.

two | implement a marketing plan to help raise money for a nonprofit
Done and done! It’s the 100th year of an organization I am on the board of, and I have been helping to implement a marketing plan to celebrate and raise money. Just gotta keep it up!

three | start reading the Bible
I have not started this. I’m almost done with my devotional book, so I think I will start this in October.

four | compile a vision board
I started this one, and I am thrilled about it. I’ve been writing down my goals and crossing them off when I complete them. It’s nice to hold myself accountable. In the coming month, I want to put some motivational phrases and images up to keep me inspired.

October 2020 Goals

one | read all the books on my October tbr
I’m participating in a reading challenge on Instagram, and I hope to completely finish all four books. I’m trying to read Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria, The Care and Feeding of Ravenously Hungry Girls, The Favorite Sister, and Assasin’s Apprentice. Fingers crossed I can read them all!

two | bake a pumpkin-flavored treat
I love baking, and I love sharing my baked goods with friends. I’m thinking of making something like pumpkin-chocolate chip cookies? Pumpkin bread? If you’ve got any suggestions, let me know.

three | keep up my 15-minute cleaning routine
I instituted a 15-minute cleaning routine during the last week of September, and it totally revolutionized my life. Okay, that’s a little dramatic, but it has been amazing. I make sure all the dishes are out of the sink and tidy my room before going to bed. It’s oddly made me a more positive and patient person, and I hope to continue the habit.

four | learn how to crochet
I started the process of picking up this new hobby, but I have not made progress in a few weeks. I want to finish the project I started, pot-holders, by the end of the month.

Happy adventuring,
Kimberly
